Pastor Doug, Founding PastorPastor Douglas Madea is the founder of Crown of Life Fellowship and pastored there for more than 20 years. He and his wife Gretchen ministered together and have 2 children. Pastor Doug has traveled to several countries, preached and taught thousands of sermons, authored many Christian tracks and literature and published his book Sanctuary View, a revelation about why there is evil in a world created by a good and Almighty God and many other philosophical questions answered about God, life and our own existence.Pastor “Doug” was born again in May 1971, after hearing the Gospel and invitation on a Christian radio station. Having already read the entire Bible from cover to cover twice over, Pastor Doug had a head knowledge of the Scriptures. He understood the meaning of Jesus Christ’s blood sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of sins and he had a sincere willingness to forsake a life of worldliness and spiritual darkness. But it was when that Christian radio DJ urged his listeners to open their hearts and lives and to surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ … that is when Doug’s commitment became a tangible reality. After completing college, ministry school and serving as a youth pastor, assistant pastor and associate pastor, Pastor Doug was ordained, licensed, and sent out as an apostle and teacher to the Body of Christ. With those anointing’s he felt called to start ministries for the Lord, persuade many to come to Jesus Christ, father many Christian leaders and direct as many as are willing into a deeper walk and relationship with God. Pastor Doug graduated to his Heavenly home in 2021.

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph. (Psalm 47:1)
Why do we lift our hands?
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name. (Psalm 63:4)Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. (Psalm 134:2)
Why do we sing in tongues?
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. (1 Corinthians 14:14-15)
How should we worship God?
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24)
What is prophecy?
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort. (1 Corinthians 14:3)To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: (1 Corinthians 12:10)
Why do we have speaking in tongues and interpretation?
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. (1 Corinthians 14:39)But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: (1 Corinthians 12:7-10)If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. Children’s Ministry
“Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” -Jesus speaking Matthew 19:14
Our Children’s Ministry meets every Sunday at 10 am and Wednesdays at 7 pm.
In Children’s church our dedicated workers teach the children about the Bible through puppet skits, exciting videos and other learning tools. Children’s church meets in their own room after the song service. At Crown of Life we believe it is important that children learn about the Lord Jesus in a fun and creative way. We see the children as future adults and pillars of the body of Christ. Therefore we train them to love one another and to exercise faith that gets results in prayer.

Our teachers love to work with the children and help them to understand God’s word, especially how to apply God’s Word to their life. The kids in Children’s Church are of all different walks of life and backgrounds. The children learn valuable lessons about how to stand up for what is right and live for God. We teach them how to work and play together with mutual love and respect. We use a reward system to encourage the kids to do their best and behave. For example, there is the quiet seat award for those who show respect to those who are speaking. And there is a reward for those who bring their bibles. Children do respond best to praise. We believe the children are precious in God’s sight. They should know that they are most welcomed by their Lord and Savior.

HOW TO BE BORN AGAIN
Where do you stand with the Lord today? Do you know Him personally? Did you know that you can know Him personally?
God wants us to turn to Him for everything that we need or desire in life, but first we must take the step to become what the Bible says a “Born Again” Christian. To do that we must realize that we are separated from God because we have sinned against Him. He is a holy and righteous God.
Everyone in the whole world has sinned against God and that sinful nature in us keeps us from being able to fellowship with God. The only way to have a relationship with God is to be born over again and receive a new nature that God Himself provides .
How does He do that? By sending His Son Jesus to pay the price for our sin with His very own life. Jesus’ sacrifice took away our sin permanently and allowed us entrance into heaven and to have fellowship with God the Father right now while we live here on this earth. He does that through His Holy Spirit the third person of God.
God’s Word says that the wages of sin is death, or the punishment for sinning against a Holy God is death. But God did not want His very own creation to be destroyed because of that sin so He provided a way out. That way of escape was for God Himself to become a man, Jesus Christ. Jesus then could take our place of punishment and let us go free! But it is not enough to admit that we have sinned against a Holy God to be born again. God says we must look to Jesus to save us from our sins.
Yes, we must first recognize and admit that indeed we have sinned against a Holy God but secondly, the Bible says we must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as our own personal Lord and Savior to be rescued from our sin. What does that mean? The Bible says in John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” God loved you so much that He gave His only begotten Son for you. You are the reason God sent Jesus to the cross.
But in order to become born again it is not enough to just admit you have sinned against God or just believe that Jesus died for your sins but you must receive or accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. This is a choice. When you receive Jesus as your Lord you are giving Him permission to take charge or to take over your life.
If you do choose to make Jesus your Lord, you will become born again. You will become a part of God’s family. God will receive you as His very own child. He will be your Father and you will be His child. You will go to heaven one day when you leave this earth but you will be able to commune with God right now. This is not just a thought to ponder in your head, accepting Jesus is a decision of the heart.
Jesus came to this earth as a baby, and when He grew up He went to the cross, died there, was raised from the dead, and lives today seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty in heaven. He died on that cross for you! He took sin on Himself for you! When you accept Jesus’ death sacrifice and believe that He saved you from your sins you become what the Bible says is born again or a new creature in Christ, a new creation; old things pass away and all things become new.( 2 Corinthians 5:17)
As far as God is concerned, at that moment, you stand before Him as a brand-new person. You are reborn from sin and death into a new life in God.
Thirdly, the Bible says that we are to confess with our mouths that Jesus is our Lord. The Bible gives some specific instructions that you are to follow in order to be a new creature in Christ.
Look at Romans 10:8-11: …“The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.”
So once we have prayed the salvation prayer we are to confess with our mouths out loud that Jesus is our Lord. We are to admit that we believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and that Jesus is now our Lord and Savior. With that outward confession our salvation becomes reality. It pushes the start button of our new life in Christ Jesus!
PRAY THIS PRAYER TO BE BORN AGAIN. START YOUR NEW LIFE IN JESUS TODAY!
Heavenly Father, I come to you admitting that I have sinned against you a most Holy and Righteous God. Please forgive me of all my sins. I accept the fact that Jesus took my place on the cross for the forgiveness of my sins. I ask you now to come into my heart, make me a new creature in Christ. I give you permission to take over my life, lead me, direct me, guide me. Fill me with your Holy Spirit to overflowing. Amen! I now confess that you Jesus are my Lord and Savior. I am a new creature in Christ I am saved! Hallelujah! Thank you Jesus!
WHAT DO I DO NOW?1. It is important to tell someone that you are a brand new Christian.2. Start reading your Bible every day. God’s Word will help you grow in your new found life in Christ and will strengthen and direct you in your daily affairs. We always encourage new Christians to start by reading the smaller book of John which is found in the New Testament of the Bible. Look at the table of contents of your Bible and find the book of John. It tells about Jesus.3. We also encourage new believers to read one chapter of Proverbs in the Old Testament of the Bible. This gives you God’s divine wisdom as to how to conduct your daily affairs of this life.4. Next read some of God’s promises. Go to our promise page for some of them to read.5 .Also, sit before the Lord quietly every day and let Him talk back to you. Go to our ” Hear from God” page to help you further with that.6. Find a Bible Believing church. This is very important! The Bible says to fellowship with other believers . If you live within driving distance of our church come visit us. We definitely believe in God’s word and stand firmly on His promises! We are located right on Main St. in Mount Joy, PA. Go to our contact page to find the map as to how to get there.
God bless you in your new found life in Christ.
Let us now pray this prayer over you
Lord Jesus, Bless this brand new Christian. Come into their life, lead them into a deeper walk with you. Establish them in the faith. Protect them and surround them with other strong Christians to encourage them and disciple them. In Jesus Name, Amen.
